OK, so I'm starting to come to life in the virtual world out there.  I have to say it's really a bit overwhelming, but also exciting.  I now have a facebook page for my business Stacie jewelry on facebook.  I will be updating my facebook page with the latest news about Stacie jewelry.

Artist Trading Cards...Bird Time!

I have to say I am having fun playing with Artist Trading Cards (ATCs).  If you aren't familiar with them check out this website that I joined called ATCs For All.

The always have open ATC swaps to join.  The basic concept is to create ATCs and trade with other artists.  I find that it really opens my mind to new ideas.

The swap that I just finished was called "Bird is the Word".  Here are my cards that I sent in.

The next swap that I joined is called "Rapunzel".  Check out her Rapunzel Swap. Should be fun!  The other part that I enjoy about the ATCs For All site is that the artist's are from all other the world.  The artist hosting the Rapunzel swap is from New Zealand.  It makes it more fun to know that your art can end up a world wide traveler!

Thanks to Whitney at the Muse!

What a great show!  Just wanted to say Thanks to Whitney at the Muse for hosting a Stacie jewelry trunk show this past Saturday.  It was a lot of fun to be out and talking to my customers.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say Hi!

Trunk Show Today!

I'm so excited for my Trunk show at the Muse today!  Set up yesterday.  Here is a peek...

 The weather is going to be warm and sunny.  The Frederick Festival of the Arts is also this weekend.  Stop by the Muse and then check out the Art Festival.  Hope to see you today!

Zentangle Fun!

I have discovered a new love, Zentangles!  Zentangle is a form of doodling that is both relaxing and fun. Basically, you draw lines with pencil that look like strings on a paper to create a guideline for your zentangle. Next you use a black pen (I love the Pitt markers) and draw a tangle pattern into each section.

There are tons of zentangle ideas all around you, just look for patterns in everyday items.  You can see the section below is from a calender.

I used my zentangle designs and a photo transfer process to create new jewelry pieces for the spring.

Spring Jewelry Show

Orignial Artwork on Jewelry

Sorry that I have been away for so long, I am having a great time designing  new jewelry for spring!  This piece shows off my own original artwork.

I created the original paintings that I used in these pieces during a class at The Muse.

 

I used acrylic paint to create the first painting that I used in the bracelet.

This painting was created with watercolors. I really enjoyed experimenting with both.

 Well, it's back to the studio for more designing!  Promise to write more often.
